Town & Country Resort - San Diego

Anybody stay in this hotel lately? I noticed the last posting was quite a while ago. Got a son at SDSU and parents weekend is coming up and they recommend that hotel.
Any suggestions which room in which tower is best?

I think they reco it because it's large and inexpensive. Tends to cater to meetings/groups. Was last there about a year ago. It's fine for a modest hotel in a not great location - you definitely need a car to get anywhere - and it's in a sort of semi-suburban area.

It's right on I-8 which is how you'll get to SDSU if you drive. It is next to the Fashion Valley trolley station. You can get the trolley from there right to SDSU or, in the other direction, to Old Town and ultimately downtown.

Also right next to Fashion Valley, the best mall in San Diego (IMO). I have to disagree with the "semi-suburban" description-it's in the middle of Mission Valley and Hotel Circle, one of San Diego's most commercial areas. The location is quite central for anything you'd want to visit in San Diego.

If SDSU is recommending it, perhaps you get a discount.

Sorry - to a New Yorker anything with malls and towns houses in semi-suburban. It's not downtown.

Stayed there a year ago, good location for shopping, the light rail runs right from the mall area to get you into downtown, etc. Rooms are Ok, not great, but clean and comfortable.
