Tour Tickets - White House
I was wondering if there is any advantage to contacting BOTH of your state Senators to try and get tickets for White House tours? Does each one get a certain amount of tickets so that asking each one would help to get tickets? Any insights appreciated.

Can't hurt to try, Deb. In December I requested from my Congressman thee tickets for an April trip. I followed up several times and was told it would not be processed till closer to the date of the visit. My last followup got the answer that I had waited too late to request tickets. Rats. Soooo, we went to the restaurant on top of the W (it is called POV) and my seven year old namesake got to watch the President's helicopter land. Close second.

We applied through a Congressman four months ahead.Social security numbers were bedded for security background check, even for kids. We couldn't take much with us except wallets, no cell homes, cameras nor any lockers to check things like at The Capitol.

Add your Representative to the list. Some have staffs that are more responsive than others. |
We just got our tickets to tour the Capitol and are anxiously awaiting an answer for the White House.

For our recent trip to DC with our grandson, I contacted both our state senator and our representative for tickets. Emailed approximately 4-5 months ahead of time. Never heard from either one. I had done the White House tour several years ago and wasn't all that impressed, so I didn't pursue it any further. PamT
