Tour Guidance: Maui Sunrise Tour: Polynesian Adv or Temptation Tour?

Based on feedback on this awesome site... I have identified the fact that when in Maui I must do the Sunrise Volcano Tour! and also have identified two tour groups: Polynesian Adventure Tours and Temptation Tours!

Question for my friends....which tour group to pick? Any insight or recommendations would be great!

We are going at the end of May. Looking forward to cuddling up in a blanket and watching the sun rise...happy to not have to drive either way!

Thanks Fodors!

Are you going to have a rental car? Just get up early (3:30) and drive up yourself. It's not that difficult of a drive, or have your hubby/whomever drive while you snooze.

I agree. Unless you are unable to drive on your own you should definitly go yourself. A very long time ago (on our honeymoon!) we took the tour bus for that trip and it was awful. They stopped at some gift shop, and the trip took forever. Also, watch out for the folks on bikes on the way down.

I've always used Polynesian Adventure Tours and never had a problem with them....

I'm convinced! We will be getting up early and driving! Any advice on best place to see it or is it pretty easy to find?

Taking other recommendations about bringing blankets to stay warm!

What part of Maui are you staying in?
We brought our GPS from home and it works fine in Maui.
There is one road up and it is well marked and easy to find, but it will be dark and the roads are like any rural area.
