Torrance CA hotel
 

For a business trip, I'll be staying at the Torrance Marriott in March. I'll be taking a few extra days to enjoy CA. I do have to stay in Torrance, but is there a better hotel, in terms of service, atmosphere, location that may be better? I heard the Hilton in Torrance just did some upgrading to their hotel? Thank you!

Emma, i used to be a concierge at the Torrance Marriott a few years back and everytime i come home to visit i still stay at the Marriott. They just renovated the hotel and its gorgeous, many friends throughout Ca. always stay there and they always are treated like royalty. You could not find a better hotel with wonderful people to make your stay even better. I've heard comments good and bad about the Hilton, but still my choice is Marriott. Whichever one you choose i hope you have a wonderful time.

Also, Emma a short walk away is Del Amo shopping center one of the largest malls around. Has every shop imaginable. Also a 15-20 minute drive depending on traffic is the beach. Redondo Beach near avenue I is wonderful. Many people jog, take a walk along the bike path, etc. Also, a couple of blocks up from the beach are some wonderful botiques and also Starbucks where you can sit outside drink a cafe mocha and watch the people and just relax.

Emma...The Marriot is a wonderful hotel, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. This is a family community and relatively safe though I wouldn't walk alone at night <BR> <BR>Right outside the Lobby door (practically) is a Border's bookstore where many go to have coffee, read a book, and on friday and saturday evenings they have live entertainment. <BR> <BR>If you like shopping the Del Amo Shopping Center is great. Originally it was 2 shopping Malls that were across the street from each other and were later connected, so it doesn't run a straight line. One end is being renovated, a majority is still shopping worthy, so find a Mall map and shop between Marshall's and Sears. Wear walking shoes. It has a couple restaurants and the food court <BR> <BR>There are allot of restaurants in the area and a grocery store kitty corner from the hotel in the shopping area along with a great Italian market and deli called Guliano's. <BR> <BR>The beach is only about 3-5 miles away. Take Torrance Blvd west until you reach Catalina St make a left and drive until there are no more condos on the right hand side and park anywhere along this stretch of beach, you will need change for the meters, make sure to get out and walk. You will find families and singles alike walking, biking, roller blading, along the beach. When you are done drive the rest of the way down Catalina and make a left on I Ave, you will now be in the Village where there a allot of restaurants and shops. <BR> <BR>If you have any specific questions about the area and what to see feel free to e-mail me.
