If you check out Canada's Wonderland, sometimes they can give you discounts on hotels in the Toronto area.
Your kids are great ages for Wonderland. Make sure to bring their bathing suits for the water park.
"Tourism Ontario" should have a web site for accomadations.

Wonderland is great but often very busy in July - try to go on a weekday as opposed to the weekend. It is also quite expensive. You might also like to consider Ontario Place on the shoreline of the city - special kids' area, movies, etc. or taking the ferry to Toronto Island. Additionally there's Black Creek Pioneer Village in North York and the Science Centre is always good for a few hours of fun.

we used to take our kids to Toronto every summer. We stayed at the Inn on the Park which was away from downtown and had several pools and bikes to ride to a lovely nearby park and was very close to the Science Centre. We took the mass transit to downtown area. The Canadian National Exposition is in late summmer..and it is fun to do..a national fair. An interesting dining experience for kids is Marche` by Movenpick. They also loved the chinese restaurants, some of which were quite elaborate but inexpensive.

Toronto - things to see/do
1. Canada's Wonderland - go on weekday.
2. Hockey Hall of Fame - (if you like hockey)
3. Centre Island - take ferry across. A beach also.
4. CN Tower/Skydome/Metro Zoo - fun for kids
5. Casa Loma
Places to stay---there are many hotels in the downtown area, some of which are relatively expensive. But you can find some good deals by phoning around.

We went to Toronto, 2 summers ago with a 11 and 13 year old. Had a wonderful time. CN Tower is a must. Tour of the skydome is a must. City is BIG. We opted for an escorted tour on Grayline. Great. Got to see most all of the city in one day. You can take all the public transportation systems on a day pass, that you can purchase at the subway station. Great deal, to get around the city. You must visit Eaton Center (underground shopping mall). Spectacular. Hope you have a good time. By the way, we went about the same time you are going, and it was quite cool. 70's in the day. If the sun is not out, 70's feels like 50's.
