Top Ten Vegas Must Sees?
Since I haven't been to Vegas in about 3-4 years, I have heard that there have been a lot of changes.
What are the top ten NEW must sees of Vegas? |
The only one that everyone will agree on:
$1,000,000 appearing on that screen in the slot machine and that alarm bell going off |
Top Ten???? You've beem watching too much tv.
Curious |
-- The Bellagio fountains (you can have dinner at the Eiffel Tower and get a great view of the fountains)
-- a cirque show or Le Reve |
Thank you, Gekko. :)

I go every summer and there is always something new to see. Make sure you see the Bellagio conservatory and go around the corner to see the choc fountain..AWESOME...maybe even buy yourself a treat. Last year we went to Madame Trussads at the Venetian. We had buy one get one tickets but still well worth the $$. I always take one day to hit as many places as I can just looking at the sights and sounds and seeing the changes. Excited to go to PH this year and see the changes to the Miracle Mile (new name?)
|
Not sure how old it is but the Fashion Mall across from the Wynn was good shopping fun.
Texas, I didn't know about the chocolate fountain! Shucks! I wish I had gone.... |
Depends on what you like, for example, if you didn't see the 3-D movie "deep sea" in SF, go see it in Luxor.
Wynn is the new hotel, I've heard, it has a conservatory of flowers, similar to Bellagio, free, open 24/7. Take at least one ride on the Monorail. Art museums in Bellagio and Venetian have rotating exhibits, check them out. See me in Vegas, if you are there at the same time May 27-31 :)) |
I'm going th Vegas next month after a 3 year absense. I'm going to the Wynn, which I think is the main new resort. Also the Planet Hollywood resort, which was the Alladin when I was there last. I'll be staying downtown at the Golden Nugget, and am looking forward to the new pool complex there with swim up bar and shark tank. :-)
|
Oh, I may try the Monorail and/or the Deuce bus. And curious about the Hawaiian marketplace. Sorry to hear the Elvis-a-Rama musuem closed.
|
I plan to go to Hawaiian Marketplace if I can make it in the heat :) Watch out for my report after June 1.
|
Hi Faina - the Hawaiian Marketplace is a fun place to go - even in the heat - they have some HUGE fans going and there's a covering to block out the sun over where the entertainment is. There are tables and chairs placed all around the entertainment area. An old flame of mine used to (may still) dance there - it's a fun, relaxed atmosphere to hear Polynesian music and watch the dancers. The last time I was over there, though, there was no waitress service at the tables - you had to purchase your own food or drinks from the surrounding venues and then consume them there at the tables.
It is patterned after the "original" Int'l Market Place in Waikiki, but doesn't really compare even though it's a lot of fun. I think you'll enjoy it. |
Hi Faina- I do look forward to your trip report. It's my Vegas preview! FYI, I'm doing a quick trip to Portland next week. It was my husbands idea, to get my mind off of Vegas! I'm the one who loves Vegas and he doesn't. ;-)
|
Bashful- I love the International Marketplace in Waikiki so I know I will love Vegs' version. Way cool, and those fans sound nice in the heat!
|
To me nothing compares with being at the top of the Stratosphere when all the lights come on.
|
Mac King.
Go see Mac King. He's definitely one of the ten. |
1 Bellagio Art Gallery & Lobby - splurge and have a meal at one of the lakeside restaurants
2 Guggenheim Museum @ the Venetian 3 Venetian Canals and Shopping Precicent 4 Tao Restuarant - Venetion 5 Steve Wynn Car Collection & Conservatory of Flowers 6 Palms Hotel, enter before 10pm and you can go to the Playboy Bunny lounge and afterwards they open the bar with the best view of the strip from the 39th floor - this has been recommended to me by a friend who's a little conservative so I figure if she's suggested it, then it must be pretty good!! 7 Casears Palace & shopping precinet 8 Liberace Museum 9 Fashion Mall - wear comfortable shoes or you'll end up buying some! 10 HAVE FUN !! |
Wasn't Liberace closed?
|
I'm going to Vegas July 7th thru 10th. I would like to visit the Hawaiian market. Where is it located?
|
I think it's just north of the M&M/ Coca Cola world and south of Planet Hollywood resort on the Strip. Near the cross street of Harmon I think (across from Monte Carlo?).
