top resorts for singles
I am new to these forums, I am in my mid fifties and I am planning a solo vacation for late august. Would like to know what resorts in the US you would recommend- ritz carlton level type of resort . thank you!

Where? Beach? Mountains? Price? Drive or Fly to & from where?
Lot of help here if you give us more to work with, ok? And welcome~ |
Resorts for 50 year old singles? Not sure - but if you go to enough Ritz type places - there should be some ladies looking to hook up with a fairly well off - spry 50 year old. :)
If you are in good shape - maybe the beach. If you are a tad chunky - try the ski resorts in the summer - where there is still a lot of activity - and you can remain more well dressed. :) |
Oops - I guess I assumed you were male. Same applies if you are female. If you are not shy about meeting people - you should have fun wherever you go. Even Club Meds.

We love the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel.

If you don't mind HEAT, this is a perfect place to go as a solo. They have last minute specials and the price per night includes 3 really great meals, hikes, exercise classes, lectures, and much more. They even have a community table for dining so that if you don't want to sit alone, you can sit at a large table with other solo travelers.
http://www.redmountainresort.com/ I spent 5 days there [solo] in early May and can't wait to go back again! |
thanks sorry- I do love hiking,( did alaska and the canadian rockies the past two summers) but was thinking more of a beach resort. Have a very busy work summer, and wanted a nice place to treat myself where I will not feel uncomfortable. Need some shade as well

I would recommend Hawaii - as it gets nice and warm but rarely has the humidity of the Carribean.
You could also come to Cal - and San Diego has some nice resorts. |
Lake Tahoe would also be nice.
