Top of the Rock

Is it easy to get tickets on the spot for Top of the Rock on Sundays? I saw one posting that said they pass out coupons in front of the entrance. Thanks!

Oops! I failed--again--thought I put in NEW YORK but it didn't come out that way! Sorry! Thanks for the tip on my other posting!!

I don't know anything about coupons, but you should have no problem getting to the Top of the Rock without much, if any, of a wait on a Sunday.

bubbles, whenever you are on the US forum, any message you post will appear with ALL other messages, there is no separate New York forum. On the other hand, if you clicked on New York before you posted it, anyone coming here and specifically clicking on New York will only get the messages that pertain to it and those where the poster clicked New York for the search function.

From what i've heard it's very easy. Few lines ... not at all like the Empire State Building. Anyway, they have timed tickets, and there are many, many booths where you can buy them. If you can plan ahead a few hours, I don't see any problem.

Btw, they offer an unadvertised military discount... on a weekday, we got 50% off.

Yes, tickets are easy to get and no line!! Plus you get to view the Empire State Building....great view

I was there Sunday. No lines. Discount tickets were given out by the rink. They have a history walk-throught presentation that looked interesting. But we raced past it. My 18 & 20 yr olds thought it was lame! Great view.
My 18 yr old thought it was over priced. She enjoyed taking pictures with the posters of the NBC shows better. (at the right angle, it looked like you were standing with the actors)

If discount coupons are so readily available, any clue where you can download them online? Seems logical they must be online somewhere.

mommaci and bubbles....thanks for the links to the coupons. I just got one and I'll use it in mid-April.

Last week there were guys passing out discount coupons in the theater district as people were entering the shows. Top of the Rock is soooooo much better than the ESB, the view is mesmerizing and its a very easy, comfortable experience. I highly recommend. I have been both day and night and much preferred the night though dusk would be perfect as you'd get to see both!

I was going to visit Top of the Rock myself. Is it true that it's better than the Empire State Building? I found a few discounts for top of the rock on attraction passes like New York Pass and New York Explorer Pass--hope that helps!

"Is it true that it's better than the Empire State Building?"

As pointed out above, the Top of the Rock has something that the Empire State Building doesn't -- a view of the spectacular Empire State Building.

mommacl Apr 5th, 2007 11:16 AM

They take your pix in front of a fake skyline on the way up (of course they generously allow you to purchase it). It’s in a paper frame, one side is you & your party, the other side…..“a view of the spectacular Empire State Building“.
