When is the best time to go?
Are there any discount tickets? |
We just got back from NYC yesterday and went to the TOR on Saturday. The best time would be at sunset I would think. We were there around 4pm and didn't have to wait in line and went right up. It was $20.00 for adult tickets (someone on this forum told me it was free...not the case.)
The only discount I saw was $18.00 for seniors. |
Here are some combo tickets and July online discount offer as posted at the TOTR site:

Lots of coupons here. We printed out the TOTR coupon and got $2 off each ticket.

I have posted this opinion somewhere here recently- I take friends from out of town at Sunset and watch the light change from sunset to dusk to dark- very magical.

Thank you, I had seen your post about the coupons but couldn't find it again.
Got them printed, ready to go. That saves us $8...Thanks for reposting!! What time is sunset in NY end of November? DId anyone eat there? Did you enjoy it? |
If you're talking about dining at TOTR, there isn't a restaurant there.

Yes, I figured that out...I was thinking of the View at the Mariott.

Sunset was great for us on Saturday the 21st - we were a bit late getting there (our tickets were for 8:05-8:20) and we arrived at 8:25 with no problems - the subways had some re-routing that night...We also had to wait in a line to get up for about 10 minutes. So we arrived at aprox 15 minutes after official sunset.
The sun was just down when we got up, but the sky was still pink, orange and red plus the city lights were just starting. We stayed for almost an hour until it was too dark for good photos. There were people during the day handing out cards with $2 off coupons at the plaza and there is a map with a coupon we found - plus the ticket office will match that price if you tell them you can't find it but you will go get it!!! |
