Top end inn in Vermont

We stayed at Windham Hill Inn in Southern Vermont 10 years ago during our honeymoon, which we toured New England over the second week of October. We plan to make similar trip this year for our 10 year anniversary.

We want to do 2 nights in southern Vermont, 2 night in north (Burlington/Stowe area) and may be 1 or 2 nights in New Hapshire. We are looking at Deerhill Inn in southern Vermont at this time.

How is Deerhill Inn compared to Windham Hill?

What northern area inn(s) is/are comparable?

What New Hapshire inn(s) is/are comparable?

I haven't been to Deerhill or Windham Hill but but I would highly recommend The Stone Hill Inn in Stowe. My husband and I stayed there on our honeymoon and its a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. Each room has a pass through fireplace(can be seen from bedroom and bathroom) a steam shower and a jacuzzi tub. Breakfasts are fantastic and Amy and Hap Jordan were the perfect hosts.

Oh yes, I've just recently discovered Stone Hill Inn. It looks fabuluous on their website, and great to hear your endorsement. What room did you stay? and what rooms do you think are the best at this inn?

FWIW, I am not into frilly things. :-)

I don't think there's one bad room at the Stone Hill Inn. We stayed in the West Branch Room, but next time time I will probably choose the Catamount or the Fiddlehead just because I like their decor a little better.

Thank you.. You know, west branch is the room that I find most appealling from their site. Perhaps because I am a guy and I find the colors to be the most masculine of them?

How about location of these room within the inn? And views from them?
