Too cold in the FL Panhandle in March?

I'm looking at Rosemary Beach for our March break but am wondering if it will be too cold to swim?

It's too cold for Floridians to swim in March for sure! We do see a few Canadians venturing out in the water during the winter months though. March has always been a very iffy month. You still can get cold fronts that move through at that time and then it gets really cold (well, cold for Florida anyway!). But, it can also be nice and sunny. It's just very hit and miss.

Not only is it too cold to swim in the Gulf, it's often too cold in March to go to the beach.

But the air can also be quite warm.

I've seen snow in March and mid-80's. Are you willing to risk it?

Hmmm, don't know. I was wondering why the rates went up for speing break (around March 12th) if it was so cold? Why would people pay a premium for such cold weather?

The water has to be about 67 for me to swim in it...I guess it's colder than that then?

The rates go up because Spring Break causes a spike in demand -- students flock to the Panhandle for the massive clubs and easy-to-reach location (as well as a shot at warm weather).

Again, the water is COLD in March.
