toll rds

we will be driving from albany n.y.through vermont, new hampshire and maine....my concern is that there may be cash-less tolls?

From Albany to VT to NH there are no tolls. The only toll road in the Albany area is the NYS thruway (which is I-90 west of the city (thruway exit 24) , and I87 to the south (from thruway exit 23), and the NYS thruway does have ticket/cash lanes.

But you would not be getting on the NY thruway anywhere in / near albany to get to VT regardless of which way you go. (East through Troy to Bennington, heading north in NY, no toll roads.
.
I think that's also true for Maine - there are (iirc) cash/attended lanes at the few tolls on I95. The Mass Pike (I90) is cashless, but they have a plate reader system that I believe you can go online and register your license plate. If it's a rental car, not exactly sure the best way to do that.

We just drove on I95 in Maine about a week ago. There are still cash lanes. I think the only toll roads in NH are north/south routes: Everett Turnpike from Nashua to Manchester, I93, and I95.

Leaving the information for future, in case if anybody comes here looking for this info. Check Tollguru website. It will give you the exact amount of toll with the EZ pass or otherwise.
