toddler in tow
 

am looking for somewhere to go that is luxurious but has very calm water. I will be taking my toddler with me and want him to be able to play a little in the water. I have no clue WHERE in to go.... I need somewhere with amazing food and a some stuff to do. I owuld like to maybe stay at a resort but also would go through VRBO for a house.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Water meaning Pool or Ocean? When you say resort I think pool, but then you mention calm water so I think Ocean.

Maybe San Diego and see the zoo and wild animal park there. Lego Land, Seaworld.

Both are a must. I need the ocean to not be too cold though. I will have to look into lego land and see if it's something a 2 year old would enjoy.... I know he would love the zoo.

Then California may disappoint. The Pacific along the California coast runs from quite cool to VERY cold. When are you traveling? Some bits of Southern CA will have semi-tolerable water temps in July/Aug.

If you are expecting Florida/Gulf/Hawaii water temperatures -- you won't find that anywhere in California.

You've asked the identical question for Florida.

you better just fly to hawaii or caribean then. Even there you may find the water to be cool not warm.

My daughter now 17, went to Disney her first time at about age 2. You mentioned Disney in your other post. I think Disney is great at any age. With a todler anywhere, you just have to be prepared and go at their pace.

With a 2 year old, I would just pick somewhere that you wanted to go and bring him/her along.

janis j- I am debating between the two. We took him to carmel last summer and he loved the beach. The water was freezing. Even though he didn't seem to mind I would prefer to take him somewhere that has warmer water.
Spirobulldog- I love the caribean. The only problem is I am not sure if I can find an island that has stuff to do. My inlaws will also be going and they are not the kind to sit on the beach all day. There doesn't need to be a ton of stuff to do but at least some to keep them happy. I love Hawaii and that is where we usually go but I don't want to put my very active 2 year old on a plane for 8 hours just yet.

Go to the Hyatt at Incline Village at Lake Tahoe. The water isn't warm, but it is calm and the beach beautiful. Plenty to do in the area.
