To Kill a Mockingbird

I had the rare privilege to see a private performance of Harper Lee's "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Monroeville Al courthouse last night--the home of Harper Lee. The play, performed by local talent, started outside and moved inside for the second act. It is normally performed in May for the public. See this site for details--http://www.monroecountyal.com/calendar.html--
This is a unique event, worth traveling to in the southeast,

Fairhope -
I came across that somehow online one day and saved the link hoping to go one day. Glad to know it would be worth the trip!
That is one of my favorite books!

Atticus Finch rocks!!!!

Ditto fave book and movie.

Seeing that play in that setting would be muy frio! ((Y))

We saw some actors dressed as Geo Washington, Tom Jefferson and James Madison debating the forming of a new nation on the lawn at Mt Vernon a few years back. Awesome.

Triva: Who played Boo Radley in the film. :-?

And if anybody wants to borrow a russian translation... ;)

Love the movie, love the book, which I practically know by heart! (I have two worn-out paperback copies, and a hardback copy autographed by HL.)

But I have never been to the Courthouse performance---and we live just two counties away!

This year we're going to try to make it down there. Thanks for the information, Fairhope.

I'm a slow reader so I can't use a russian book.

Heck...my lips move when I type!
