We lived in Cody and would move back there in a second. We've been gone for three years now, so things might have changed slightly.
The downtown shops are fun. Cody is very "artsy" and has several wonderful art gallerys. Simpson Gallagher Gallery was my favorite.
If you like history, the Old West Town on the west side of Cody is fun to tour. He has reassembled original western buildings and recreated a town with them. They give you the sense of the old west.
The Nitely Rodeo is fun if you've never been to a rodeo. A great small town atmosphere and not the crowds that the pro rodeos generate. They do have a pro rodeo normally around July 4th
North of Cody is one of my favorites, although it leaves a lot to be imagined. The Heart Mountain Internment center was located in between Cody and Powell. I hope there's been more development of the site -- there were a couple of informative signs that help picture what the internment center looked like in World War II.
Our favorite restaurant was Maxwell's, although I hear there have been wonderful ones opened since we left. Ask the locals.
The BB Historical Center will take you hours to go through, and that alone is worth time in Cody.
Hope you enjoy!
