TKTS vs. Broadway box office

Re: Getting 2 tickets to an 8PM Broadway show on Feb. 14. Do I go to the TKTS place at 3PM when it opens on Saturday? Or can I show up later and how much later would you recommend? If I go the Box Office route then I don't need to get there until 7:30 in hopes of getting the really good released seats? In other words the "not so good tickets" would have been sent to TKTS where I'd get them at half price or I'll pay face value for good tickets at the box office just right before the show but take the chance of getting no tickets? It's more important to me to get good seats than to get discounted seats.Thank You

The key question is: What show are you talking about?

If good seats are more important than discounted seats, check you show for discount codes at Playbill, Broadwaybox, Theatermania, etc. For whatever reason, I've seen different seats come up after trying all three.

If you don't mind paying full price, than go to playbill.com ahead of time, or call the box office and get tickets in advance. No reason to stress the day of if you can pay the exact same amount ahead of time.

Since it sounds like you are looking at a specific show??? and not flexable- get your tickets NOW. This weekend will be extremely busy with little selection- and NO guarantees on house seats anywhere. I am extremely flexable and most always head to TKTS shortly before the show. I am usually busy during the day. But South Seaport booth opens at 11, if you still want to try anything from the TKTS booth.

A correction on embily123's posting. You cannot call the box office for tickets. The only way to get tickets on the phone is thru Ticketmaster ot Ticketron (depending on the show). And, you'll pay an additional $5.50-$6 handling charge per ticket.

Sorry bout that howard, You are cerrtanly correct. Also, some shows are listed through tele-charge.

You are right this time, embily123. I should have said Telecharge instead of Ticketron. (I guess I'm showing my age!)
