TKTS availability

New Yorkers: Has Thoroughly Modern Millie been available at TKTS mid-week lately? I'm wondering whether to buy tickets in advance or wait to purchase at TKTS.

I waited in line for nearly 1 hour and realized that I hadn't even moved half way through the line when I decided half off wasn't worth it. If your time is valuable to you in NYC, I'd pre-order. There are a couple of Broadway sites that you can sign up and they will send you notifications of "sales".

Yes, Thoroughly Modern Millie has been available at TKTS. However, keep in mind that this is a slow time for the theater. When are you coming?
In response to the previous posting, you can figure about 20-30 minutes for each block-long length of the line. (Yes, the two lines can get as long as 4-5 block lengths.)

If you can accept the fact that you'll likely have less to choose from, you could try visiting the TKTS booth on the late side - perhaps between 7 and 7:30 PM. By then the lines are usually down to 5 minutes or so and on occasion some extra seats get released late and you get lucky with a good show that wasn't on the board earlier in the day. More typically, the most popular TKTS shows are gone at that point but between broadway anbd off-Broadway I nearly alwasy find somethign of intterest and have had some pleasant surprises by going to shows I didn't know much about. I did have a practice of going to the line at 6 or 6:30 PM anf fidnign it short but this summer the lines were still long that late in the day.

Thanks for the replies. Howard, I'll be there Oct 2-9. I've used TKTS many times before and am aware of the lines, so I always either go late in the day, or go to the Downtown location at opening time where the lines have been shorter. Howard, where is the downtown location located now?

Go to the location at Seaport (right outside the American Indian Museum). The lines are short,it opens early and I always get what I've gone there for.

That's where I got my ticket to Thoroughly Modern Millie.
