Tipping on courtesy coach.

I am flying into LAX from the UK. I am staying at the Westin airport hotel. I believe their is a courtesy coach between the airport and the hotel - will the driver expect a tip?

Yes. A dollar per passenger and a dollar per bag that your driver handles is what my husband and I pay. I'm not sure if that's more or less than the going rate. Not everyone will know to tip.

That's about what I tip - a dollar per person plus a dollar per bag. When I am travelling alone, I usually tip about $3.

Just curious, do you folks who tip the hotel shuttle driver also tip a rental car shuttle driver?

J_Correa Jun 16th, 2003 02:38 PM

I tip the rental car shuttle driver if he helps me with my luggage.

If all the driver does is sit in the seat and drive without helping people with their luggage, then I don't tip the driver.

I don't tip the rental car driver either. I don't know why.

I tip anyone who helps me with my luggage. $1 per bag.
