Tipping for wheel chair service

For the first time my husband is going to need a wheel chair in the airport. I assume we tip the person who wheels him through. How much? $3??

Thanks

Depends on how far he needs to be pushed and if you have to stop. My grandmother usually tips $5 but I would base it on how helpful he is and how much he helps.

This has been covered before. There's little agreement, but $5 sounds about right.

I usually tip $5 and it is well worth it. Some airports (e.g. SEA) have employees who will not accept tips. They will let you know.

Hello Softato, will this be a domestic or international flight and are you talking about when you are departing the airport or arriving?

A few trips ago I had a fall in Italy and two days later when flying home I had a swollen knee. KLM had a wheelchair service meet me as I could not walk without serious pain.

The attendant got me through immigration and customs and to the area where I was to catch the shuttle bus to get me to the city where my daughter was to pick me up. I tipped him $20.00. Too much? I don't know but this dear man was worth every penny.
