Why not? I think it's interesting. I like to hear points of view from different perspectives. I've never tried to tip for a better room and I thought Rich's and Della's posts, in particular, were valuable.

Yes I found that hilariously ironic as well.

My experience with this was when we had booked a non-smoking room at the monte carlo and when we got there they had none left. So he said for 30 more dollars we could have this huge suite and then the next night we could be moved to a non-smoking room. I reluctantly said ok. Well, when we got in our room and saw how beautiful and spacious it was I told my husband if I won any money that night I was paying the extra 30 dollars to stay there for the full four nights. Yep, I won 350 dollars on a slot and walked up to the desk and he gave that rate for the whole stay and I was thrilled:-) Although it spoiled me because now I never want to stay in a regular room again! On the issue of tipping/ or bribing I would never have even known you could do such a thing? We had a great trip though.
