Tip for S.F. Visitors re Cable Cars

I've been downtown at Powell and Market in the evenings on 3 recent occasions. Lo and behold, there was barely a line at the cable car turnaround (about 10-15 persons, max)! So...if you can make your cable car ride a post-dinner activity, it just might be a bit more enjoyable than standing in line for an hour or more mid-day. At this time of year, you'd have the benefit of the beautiful sundown light, or watching the fog swallow up buildings as it moves in... Take it from a local who actually uses the cable car for transportation.
Cheers,
dovima

Hi dovima, that is a good suggestion and one I never thought to pass on to visitors. Take care.

Alohaaaa,
I recall late evening rides in the late 60s, early 70s hanging off the c'car looking down on a fog shrouded City.
Unbelievable memory I would sell for any amount of $$$$.

Suzie, I used to love riding the cable cars late in the evenings..I am hoping we get settled in Portland quickly so we can visit SF in the fall. The Yankee needs to ride on a Cable Car ! I will tell him they don't stop, he has to run and jump on LOL

Scarlett and O2,
I need a fan today. May be over 100 today in Saccamenna area.

Why do I picture "Doris Day" when you talk about riding a Cable Car?

"Petite Sirahhhhh Sirahhhhhh...what ever will be will beeeeee...."

Kal, what's up with the heat? It was so nice until now. Rain or 100 degrees. I guess that's the weather in the central valley!

Kal

Your first posting doesn't make sense. You'd sell the memory for any amount? What?

Bear, your well-being is in danger. Nobody can take a bottle away from Kal, not even his Mrs! Unless it's a replacement

Let they who is w/o typos cast the first stone!

Gimme a break...I was sober at the time. It's highly overrated.

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

Yep....it sure was a hot time today.
Mrs Kal was going to do some cross training and ride her bike after work...heh heh heh.
