Timing for whale watching from San Diego

During which winter months are you most likely to see whales off the coast near San Diego? Will they still be around in early March?

End of January through mid March.

How has the whale watching been lately? We leave tomorrow for San Diego and I'm wondering how much luck we will have spotting any whales.

I'm leaving in a couple of days for San Diego and was wondering the same thing.

Has no one been watching?

I guess we local take it for granted. I've lived here ten years and I've never gone whale watching!

I had to laugh Jocelyn, I've lived here most of my life,(except for a few years in the BayA) and I've only gone whale watching once for a high school outing.
Funny how we live in paradise and take it for granted.
I clicked on this post to see if someone might have some info about whale watching. Visitors always seem to know more about what's happening in a city.

Go to www.sandiego.org - A quick search came up with 200 whales counted off the coast in mid-January. This is the official San Diego information web site and has tons of information. You can also call them (619) 236-1212.

I would love to do this but have never been in San Diego during these months.
