Times Square to Yankee Stadium

We are staying at the Double Tree Guest Suites in Times Square and would like to go to a Yankees game. What is the best way to get there?

Subway is your best bet - you'll be there within half an hour. The #4 train will get you there, as well as the B and D trains I believe. I think the B and D trains may only go there on weekdays. Check the MTA subway map to be certain. The stop for Yankee Stadium will be 161st St.

From the Times Square area, take the D train from 42nd Street and 6th Avenue and get off at the 161st Street - Yankee Stadium stop. The other option would be to take the 42nd St. Shuttle train to Grand Central, and then take the 4 train.

You should be aware, that some games are sold out, so I would check availability through the Yankees.com website.

To go from Times Square requires a change of trains. You would take the #2 expess train UPTOWN to the 149th STreet, Grand Concourse station. You would then have to walk up two flghts of stairs to take the #4 train one stop to the Stadium. A simpler way would be to take the D train directly to the Stadium. You get off at the 161st St. station. You can get the D train at 42nd ST and 6th Ave. You want to go UPTOWN t o the Bronx

The D train option is the easiest one from Times Squares. Walk a block east to 6th and 42nd, from there it is about 7 stops.

But, there is something to be said for taking the 4 train. As you emerge from the tunnel, Yankee Stadium is right there in front of you. If it's your first visit to the Stadium, I'd suggest that option as it is more visually impressive.

BTW, you might want to get to the game about 90 minutes before the first pitch. That's when they open the doors and you'll be able to tour Monument Park. Also, if they are taking BP, you stand a decent chance of getting a ball near the left field wall.
