Time zones on forhtcoming trip to zion, bryce, monument valley, grand canyon south, las vegas
I am struggling to get my head around any change in time zones on our September trip. Please help and let me know what time zones the following places are in. On the days we travel from one place to another I would hate to miss arranged trips if we had forgotten the time goes forward.
Las vegas
Zion
Bryce
Page
Monument Valley
South Rim GC
Vegas
Thanks
Hilary

Hi Heather
We've just come back from this area, so I have some recent experience jingling the time zones. I hope I have this right - but, if not, somebody else will correct me.
Las vegas is Pacific Standard Time
Zion is Mountain Time, so +1 hour
Bryce is Mountain Time
Page is in Arizona and Arizona does not do daylight saving, and will therefore be on Pacific Time, so -1 hour
Monument Valley - tricky. I *think* it was Mountain Time when we were there. MV straddles both Utah and Arizona. Arizona does not do daylight saving (thus Pacific Time), but the Navajo do (thus Mountain Time, as with Utah). Hmm. +1 hour (I think)
South Rim GC - back to Arizona and PST, so -1 hour
Vegas - still PST, so no change from GC.
Hope that helps!!

In Sept., Las Vegas will be Pacific Daylight Savings, one hour behind Mountain Daylight Savings. Zion, Bryce, and Monument Valley are on Mountain Daylight Savings. The Navajo Nation observes daylight savings. Page and South Rim GC are on Mountain Standard time because the State of Arizona does not recognize Daylight Saving (because, really, who wants to save daylight when its 115 degrees). This means Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) is the same as Pacific Daylight Savings. Clear as mud??

I have nothing to add to what's already been said EXCEPT another way to state it. The following applies in September, during daylight savings time.
If it's 5 o'clock in Las Vegas.
It's 6 o'clock in Bryce, Zion, and Monument Valley on the Navajo Tribal Land.
It's 5 o'clock on the South Rim of the Canyon.

Thanks for replies. The one I can cope easiest with is Paulrabe - thanks. BUT is Page 5 oclock or 6 o clock as that is probably the most critical as we want to catch an afternoon float trip, travelling from Bryce.
