I don't know if you would be interested in a visit to Best Friends Sanctuary, but because of your screenname I will mention it. It is a top rated no kill sanctuary near Kanab, UT. They have tons of volunteer opportunities and it would be quite an experience.

What about a swing over to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It's totally different from the south rim--less people, buildings and many feel better views of the canyon.
Be sure to ask officials before doing any back roads. We asked and were told people had been getting stuck. Later we hard of roads being washed out because of flooding. |
Hey, 2dogs... i would second the suggestion of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab. It's the largest one in the world, and really remarkable. You can have a tour, and volunteeri -- for free! Lunch is a minimal cost, served in their beautiful cafeteria overlooking the most beautiful canyon. Seems like you could hit this on your way to Bryce, pretty easily Have fun!

2dogs, I agree with either/both N.Rim and Kanab/Pink Coral Sands Park . Check to see if N. Rim is open. We layed over in Page this summer. The Dam tour, Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon tour all can be viewed in an afternoon. Nothing great. We took the Cottonwood Canyon Rd to Bryce. Very deserted. Do only in dry weather. Bryce and Zion will be beautiful in the Fall. Zion is our favorite!!
