Time driving from Daytona to Orlando...?

If I have a 9pm flight on a Tuesday out of Orlando. I am staying at a hotel in Daytona.
What is the latest time I should depart from Daytona?
I will have to return a car...
Thanks for any advice :)

The approximate driving time from a hotel (presumably on/near the beach) to MCO would be 1 1/2-1 3/4 hours, assuming you made maximum use of interstate highways and other toll roads.

Most rental car companies are located in the airport parking structure or very close by, perhaps on SR 436, not more than a mile away. You will be hitting some rush hour traffic in Orlando and driving may be somewhat slower on some of the side streets close to the airport.

If it were me (and I know the roads) I would leave not later than 5 P.M.

Orlando Vic is right on. You are going to have after work traffic when you come through Orlando. Have plenty of time for busy roads.

The gas station closest to most of the rental car companies charges exhorbitant rates. Make sure you look before you start pumping.
