Tickle Pink Inn

Hi - We are planning a trip to California in early July. For anyone who has stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn, do you think it is worth $261/night. That is the rate I was quoted today and while it looks wonderful, I would like to know what you think of this rate!
Thank you for your help! Jana

I don't know about the B&B but Tickle Pink was my favorite flavor of Boone's Farm Wine when I was in High School.

Hi Jana,

What type of room are you being quoted at the $261 rate?

I adore this property. We stayed here last October & it was heavenly.

Details about the property in my trip report, http://www.fodors.com/forums/pgMessa...p;tid=34452270

It really is a wonderful place. @};-

when I was in college, my fraternity had a Boone's Farm party. Each attendee got a bottle of Boone's. Mine was "Tickle Pink" and is still the worst hangover I've ever had. That says something for a guy who's been in New Orleans for 6 yrs!

Don't know the California hotel versiou, Jana16! Sorry to hijack your thread.

I've been reading all of the favorable reports on the Tickle Pink. I was just wondering after staying at the Highland's if it would be a let-down.

They are offering an oceanfront room, with no fireplace or jacuzzi for $289/night mid-week. There is a balcony, tho. Any ideas on which room to request for the best views? They are also offering a cove room for the same price, but I think the views are mostly of the trees and just a little bit of the ocean. ***kim***

the views at the tickle pink and at some of the highland inn rooms are great--but highlands inn rooms have real fireplaces--and, depending on the season, you might get a cheaper rate too

I read on another site that they will fax you a map of the property and you can actually pick your room. The reviews said the bottom level rooms have the least desirable views. I know we're getting a standard room, but at least will have an oceanview with a balcony. I've heard to request Room #12, so we'll see what they say when I call. ***kim***

Hi Kim,

I have a map of TPI property listing rooms... do you have a fax#?

Lisa

Yes, you can e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll give you the #. I really enjoyed your trip report on this property. I asked her to fax me a copy, but she just put me in Room 15. I requested not to be on the bottom floor.

There's also a 7 day cancellation policy. Even if there is a major emergency and you can't make it, you only get your money back if they sell the room. Yikes! That's risky with our large family. Keep your fingers crossed and I better call Grandma to baby-sit once again! ***kim*** :)

Kim,

For regular room #15 will be great views... smack dab in the center of the property.

I'm excited for you... that's really a good rate.

Have a great time!

Thanks so much for all the help, we'll see how it compares to the Highland's Inn. I'm sure my hubby will have definite opinions one way or the other.

I think we'll just relax at the property most of the time, go to Pt. Lobos and take nice hikes, then head over to Big Sur the next afternoon for a dinner at Sierra Mar.

SAB, if you're reading this, how shall I dress for dinner? ***kim***
