Tickets for Book of Mormon

I'm researching buying two tickets for The Book of Mormon for late July/early August. I know that it's going to be hard to get tickets, but so far I have found sold out or available for a minimum $45 surcharge per ticket. Last time I checked, I am not insane..... So, short of finding a friend in NYC who could go to the theater and buy tickets for me, what is the best way to get tix? When I go to the Eugene O'Neill Theater website I get stuff about Spring Awakening. Thanks to anyone who can help.

The show is sold out. The only way to get advance tickets at this point is to pay a premium to a scalper. The box office does not have any tickets that are not available online.

The only way to get tickets only at the box office is to go for the lottery on the day of (NOT in advance) and wait and hope - and realize that your chances of getting 1 or 2 tickets is very slim.

If you must see the show buy the premium/scalper tickets now before they are gone too.

Check below for a reent thread on this same topic.

Book of Mormon has its own web site (http://www.bookofmormonbroadway.com/home.php), which a link to its ticket seller, Telecharge.com. As others have pointed out, you will not be able to buy regular price tickets of any kind for July. It's sold out through then.

A $45 premium is not that bad for a scalper ticket if it's non a view-restricted seat, so that might be a viable option.

Otherwise, you must do the lottery, which is only for same-day reduced-price first-row tickets. That's your only option. Having a friend go to the theater for you won't make any difference unless he/she does it on the same day you want to see the musical.

I'm questioning that $45 premium to a scalper. You must have found the dumbest scalper in New York if he's really selling a ticket for only $45 over face price. Are you sure he isn't selliing a "cheaper seat" but adding $45 to a higher price? For example, maybe it's a $105 balcony seat, but he says something like "premium seats are $300 and I'll sell this one for $345 which really means you're paying almost three times the face price?

Um, Craig's List is the worst place in the world to buy anythng. Just make sure the tickets are real.

It would be nice for all of us if you indicated what seats you got and for how much.
