tickets for alcatraz
 

I'm looking to but tickets on line for Alcatraz. The web site ask me if I want them by regular mail or Angency pickup. Can someone tell me how I get the tickets please?

Do the regular mail so you'll have the tickets in hand when you go. That way, you can avoid waiting in line at the pickup window and save a little bit of time. You never know when you could be running late and that extra 5-10 min may help you.

Where do you live toledo? We asked for ours to be mailed to Canada, but after a few weeks they never arrived. Finally phoned them and found out they could not be sent here. We ended up picking them up at Pier 41 which is where the boat departs from. This was very easy to do, just make sure you have the credit card with you that you made the initial purchase with.

If you live in the U.S., I think that having them mailed to you would be fine, just make sure there is enough time before your trip for them to arrive.

Definitely get them ahead of time. We were there over Easter, and they were sold out for days. Maybe it was just Easter weekend I don't know. I would not have wanted to wait in line as they were very long. Easy by mail. Enjoy Alcatraz. We did. Owa

Make sure you arrive early for boarding. If you arrive right at the time your boat leaves, they won't let you on. By that time, they are letting the people on standby on, bascially to take your spot on the boat. If you miss your boat, standing in that "first come, first serve" standby line is your only option. We had to wait almost 2 hours because we missed our boarding by 1 min because we had to pick up our tickets. Alcatraz is awesome!! It was sunny and clear when we went over. after 45 min inside, we walked out in the courtyard to see the bridge and it wasnt there!! Nothing but thick fog coming towards us! OMG! Have a great time! That was one of the very few highlights in SF
