Three perfect days in Maui

Looking for suggestions for things to do for a perfect four night stay in Maui. We have done the road to Hana before, so no need to do that again.
thanks in advance.

Have you been up Haleakala? Any interest in a luau?

I took a helicopter trip over Haleakala years ago. I may be interested in going again, but not at Sunrise. Luau is a possibility,

I went to Haleakala for sunset and it was extraordinary--the highlight of my visit.

We did Haleakala mid-morning (no one wanted to get up early or drive that road in the dark).

Reserve Old Lahaina Luau asap if you decide you want to do that.

I also did Haleakala at sunset. It was really beautiful! Songdoc- your picture is fabulous!

I always go out on a boat for whale watching or a snorkel trip- or both. We snorkeled at Shark Fin Cove on a day when it was too windy to snorkel at Molokini Crater. Snorkeling at Shark Fin was a great place and there was only 1 other boat there. Have always gone with the Pacific Whale Foundation.

The Iao Needle is a nice visit- very historical.

I like to go to Waiola Church on Sunday- in Lahaina. Service is a mixture of Hawaiian and English. Music usually a piano, guitar and ukelele. After church a lunch is served and everyone is welcome to attend.

Next to the church is an old cemetery where members of royal family are buried as well as many of the missionaries who came to the islands. It is beautiful and interesting to walk around.

For great scenery on the interior of the island, drive up to the parking area at the base of the Io Needle. There are a couple other places to stop on the way back down with some very interesting trees and buildings.

Thanks, Sunbum. That sunset seemed to go on forever. (Maybe because I was freezing! HA!) Every time I thought it couldn't get better, the colors deepened. I was concerned about the drive down at night, but it was easy because all I needed to do was follow the headlights in front of me -- and the stargazing was incredible. The Io Needle was also a favorite.

The Road to Hana was once too often for us -- wasted one of our five days -- but it rained for most of the trip out, and the sights on our way back were underwhelming totally.

Strongly recommend breakfast, happy hour, and dinner at Mala Ocean Tavern in northern end of Front Street in Lahaina. Outstanding food and service. And if you need new sunglasses, find the tucked away Maui Jim retail/repair corp center two blocks behind Front Street at Dickenson Street. It's an office building, not a store front.

Had our best meal of our trip at Mala Ocean Tavern.
