Three generation summer beach rental

I'm contemplating about a three generation summer house rental for two weeks this August, somewhere on the ocean from New England to South Carolina for two grandparents, two children and spouses, and six grandchildren from 2 to 11. Would like a pool and beach access. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated - Steve in FLA

We love Hilton Head and it has a great beach for children. There are many restaurants and the bike paths are our favorite part of Hilton Head.

Try Isle of Palms outside of Charleston. The advantage is that it's close enough to town that you can enjoy both beach and Charleston itself.

We have stayed on the Jersey Shore with 2-3 families for 20 years (mostly Stone Harbor and Ocean City). You can certainly find a rental house to meet your needs, with boardwalk and beach access, but it might be hard to find one with a private pool.

I rented this place at IOP and loved it. It is not on the beach but close by. Exceedingly well maintained, clean as a whistle and plenty of room.

Outer Banks all the way. I've rented from these folks before and they have great houses.

They have a good 50 with private pool and ocean view avail in Aug. One in there called Webbers Watch for 3500/wk looks awesome.

They are mostly in Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo area, which is much more low-key than the main area around Nags Head, etc. Right in the middle of all the deserted beaches in the National Seashore, which means you can easily get a beach to yourself if you like-even in mid-August.

Other rental places aside form this one of course.

Come on down to Seabrook Island, SC! We're located approximately 25 miles from downtown Charleston (perfect for those who want to take in historic sites).

There are no hotels on SBI, only condos and homes. While you should be able to rent one big home, you might find it better to rent two smaller homes side by side.

You can visit my blog (http://south-carolina-lowcountry.blo...brook%20Island) to learn more about SBI and the surrounding area.

Have fun planning!
