We'll be staying at the Flamingo for three nights...ready to have fun, party, and see everything....

1. Shuttle or cab from Airport to Flamingo? How much will it cost?
2. Good, affordable restaurant near the Flamingo? No buffets!
3. How will the weather be like late April?
4. Are there any good, afforable day trips to the Red Rock Canyon?
5. Fun bars or clubs (20-30 yr old crowd) to go to during the weekend? during the week? Will we have to pay cover? How about long lines?
6. Best strategy to see all the "must see" attractions/casinos in three days (not sleep?)?
7. Where can we leave our luggages? Our flights do not leave till midnight.
8. Is the Guggenheim Museums worth seeing?
9. Any good places to have breakfast? No buffets, unless it's so good and affordable.
10. Best transportation method to accomplish all these things in 3-days?

I'd suggest you rent a car and for God's sake relax. Lot's of clubs & restaurants to choose from and of course the ever present buffet's. Enjoy!

Can't help on all your queries - but we went to the Guggenheim Hermitage in November and were not overly impressed - the tickets are quite pricey for what is there in basically two rooms. By the looks of your itinery, you'll have enough to do without the art galleries. If you do want to see some art and can fit it into your itinery, I'd suggest the Wynn Collection which is cheaper and has better (if fewer) pictures.

I'll help you out w/some of these but I think it would be to your advantage to do some reading up on LV as well. Skip The Guggy, it is over-priced & w/little art. Take a cab (unless you have a large group, in that case a limo) & tell them to take the short route. You'll nearly always have to pay cover unless you go really early. The Ghost Bar & Rum Jungle come to mind for bars. I would save the Red Rock trip until next time, you'll have plenty to do. The hotel will keep your bags, many folks take the red-eye back east, not a problem. You can walk to most everything once you're @ the hotel. Hope this helps, Enjoy!

-Break into sections - north to Caesar's Mirage. Treasure island - croos to Venetian, back to Flamingo; Bally's, Paris, Bellagio, back to flamingo; to Monte Carlo, MGM, NYNY, Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, back to Flamingo.
-With the Bellman.
-No.
-Inexpensive breakfasts abound in LV, but try the Paris buffet - especially if you're going to be partying like it's 1999.
-Walk. Yet, there are other modes - taxi's, buses, a strip trolly (to be avoided if possible), and some limited trams (MC to Bellagio; MB to Excalibur) TI to Mirage; the MGM to Bally's is out of service)

My advice for a 3 day trip would be to not rent a car. Vegas traffic is hellacious. In all sincerity, the toughest part of the trip occurs from when you walk out of the airport with your luggage to the point in which you are checking in. I think the combination of anticipation and frustration gets the best of me. The airport is litteraly only 2-3 miles from the Strip but getting there can sometimes take more than an hour between waiting in a cab/shuttle line and traffic. I've often wondered if I could walk it.
Splurge a little and have lunch at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. You can't beat having some wine, with the Bellagio fountains going and Vegas walking by your table.

They offer Red Rock hiking and mtn. biking. It looks sweet but I've never been able to get my friends to join me.

We just got back. FYI, the shuttle from Ballys to MGM is also closed. They are redoing all the shuttles and including hotels that were never before connected to make the whole system bigger & better.

If you're staying only 3 days, I'd suggest a rental car. They run about $18 - 25 a day, depending on class. Well worth it, as it makes it easier to get around. You can drive to Red Rock Canyon; or just leave the strip for breakfast or dinner, get quickly downtown, etc.

Why the Flamingo? It's one of the older hotels (is it renovated?). And even if you're against buffets in theory, try Ballys breakfast buffet - best ever.

Thanks, snarla, didn't know that one was down.. (Not a big fan of the LV trams) I understand they're closing most all of them to complete the elevated system..
Leona: Why the Flamingo? Who cares? That's the choice here for your response. The Flamingo, as are other hotels, is renovating rooms. It's location is unbeatable and we must all presume provence97 has a rate which is acceptable...
provence97: Your shuttle choices from the airport are extensive - simply take the first one offering service to Flamingo. While a round-trip ticket may be available, I would recommend against it since with your return you will simply access the first shuttle available. Depending upon the date of your stay and time of departure, finding a shuttle back to the airport from the Flamingo is reasonably convenient.
