Three Adult women 67, 45, 41, 1 week road trip, Las Vegas to Denver
 

My daughters and I are planning a road trip to see natural beauty of part of the western US. We are flying from GA to LV and plan to return via Denver, t hough open to other ideas. Looking for route suggestions, specific areas to stay, etc.

When? What do you want to see and do? More info would be helpful...

If you are flying from Denver, a good route would be to visit Utah from Las Vegas (Bryce, Zion, etc.), or perhaps there's even time for Yellowstone National Park? Then back through Wyoming to Colorado. But, how long, is it a road trip, camping or chain motels, outdoor fun vs. museums, etc. are needed before you get specific suggestions.

p.s. that's 1 week AFTER Vegas, or including?

in a week, you could drive by a few things, but that's not much time for seeing the great Western States... too spread out and a lot of driving...

If you want to more than drive by or through some great country, you should consider limiting your scope. From LV you can easily visit the Valley of Fire State Park en route to the Zion area in a day. Then decide if you want to see Cedar Breaks, Capital Reef and Bryce Canyon en route to Denver or skip Cedar Breaks, but add just a drive through loop of Moab & the Arches area on US 191 and SR 128. You can, of course do it all, but you won't have much time in any spot. IMO, Yellowstone is too far into include.

A one-way rental from Vegas to Denver will have a drop charge, so make sure you research how much that costs before booking flights.

Vegas to Denver:
1 night at Grand Canyon South Rim
1 night in Monument Valley
2 nights in Moab
3 nights in Colorado mountains (southwest Colorado or something closer to Denver)

An alternate idea would be to fly in/out of Salt Lake City and stick with Utah. You can spend a few days in the mountains and a few days in southern Utah (Zion/Bryce, Capitol Reef).

All that is dependent on time of year though.

When are you planning to take this trip? If it is in the winter, then you would need to be flexible and keep an eye out for storms.

I like WhereAre We's plan, unless you already have been to Grand Canyon and Monument Valley. If you have been to them, then spend a night in Zion, a night in Bryce, drive through Capitol reef and then do 2 or 3 nights in Moab for Arches and Canyonlands, 1 night at Mesa Verde and a couple in the Colorado Mountains.

Besides the rental car fees to drop it in Denver, I wonder if three women really want to just stay one night and then move on in the car. Doesn't sound like fun to me.

Why don't you fly to one place, and stay in that general area?

How about Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Tucson, . . .?

And why Vegas?
