Thousands descending on Monterey Peninsula in August?

I remember reading that there is a major auto show or something going on in Monterey in August that will make finding lodging difficult. Can anyone provide details? Thanks

Okay-found out it's the Historic Car Races from 8/13 -8/15...Just when we were planning on visiting..Will this ruin our short visit?

KG:

This show is incredible...if you like cars, beauty and fun.

NOTHING can ruin a visit to Monterey unless you let it.

Bring your fun attitude to enhance your time in Monterey.

Happy Planning,

I would think that the Historic Car Races would enhance your visit.

No, the historic car thing won't ruin your trip, but it will make finding lodging more tricky--not impossible, though. Lots of people come to Monterey for it, but the area absorbs them without too much difficulty, since they--and you--can stay in Carmel and PG as well. Also make a note to make reservations for dinner as restaurants will be more busy than usual. Good luck!
