NO NEED TO SHOUT, ALEX!!!!

We can hear you just fine if you'll only speak in normal tones. (Reading all caps is much more difficult).

All of the above plus the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. Loved it! We went during Thanksgiving from Florida and had a great time.
Duane

From one Alex to another:

Above all, see the tree in Rockefeller Center. It's exceptionally beautiful this year. They turn the lights off at midnight.

If you're a Beatles fan, visit Strawberry Fields in Central Park (at 72nd St. & Central Pk. West) and keep in mind that the dark, ominous building at the corner of 72nd and Central Park West is the Dakota, where John Lennon (and Rosemary's Baby) was shot.

I'll assume you'll want to see Ground Zero. Take either the A, C, 2, 3, 4 or 5 subway line downtown to the Fulton Street stop.

Weather permitting, take the 3 hour Circle Line cruise around Manhattan for things you normally would miss - Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Lib., Ellis Island, Yankee Stadium, etc. Well worth it. Check www.circleline.com for details.

Don't know how "must see" this is, but if you're out partying in the Rockefeller Center area Saturday night at 1 a.m., go stand by the south entrance of the GE (NBC) Building (not sure of the exact street, 47th maybe?) and watch the Saturday Night Live cast come out after the show. This week's musical guest is Mick Jagger.

Of course there's always the museums and Empire State Building...

Have fun!

Hi
Thank you all for the great suggestions and information it was very helpful. I did a NYC trip report on 12/10/2001. Looking forward to returning. Alex

Alex--what is the heading of your trip report? I would like to read it but am too lazy to hunt for it.

Let me qualify my comments by saying I live in NY.

Have a glass of wine (or two) at Morrell's Wine Bar on west 49th. They are directly across from the Rockefeller Center Tree and have a great view out their window.

If you are with the kids, go to the FAO Schwartz store on 5th and 59th St. AND the Toys R Us store in Times Square. (Even if you are not with the kids, go.)

The Met Meseum on 5th Ave. has late night hours on Friday. Grab a cocktail on the balcony and see some great Impressionist Art while you are at it.

Go ice skating at either the Rockefeller Center rink or Wolman Rink in Central Park.

If it is nice out on Saturday or Sunday, wlak around SOHO and window shop. Great little boutiques. (Soho is South of Houston {pronounced House-ton, not like the city in TX} and West of Broadway.
