This site is great! We've gotten so much information.

I have posted on here several times. Hope i wasn't a bore. But I thank all of you who contributed. It has helped my daughter and I plan this trip more effectively. I'm sure we will enjoy every moment of it.

Avoid mentioning anything about the following in a post and you can get concise, informed, hard to find info about travel here:

Kids on airplanes
Race differences
Body odor among Europeans
Kids in theaters
the Florida Mafia
Overwieght fliers
Kids in restaurants
Disciplining kids
Weddings which appear in Town and Country
The obligation to tip hotel chambermaids
Kids at museums
Oaktown Traveler
Use of Travel Agents
Advertisemeents for condos in Hawaii
Kids at...well...kids period.

Also avoid mentioning:

praising this site
criticizing this site
perfume
smoking
peanuts
airplane windowshades
Kyoto protocol
pregnant travelers
sex
anonymous posters

That's exactly it. But that's a problem. There are some topics that you just can't talk about without causing a big fight. Obviously, people smelling is an inherently insulting topic, but you can't even turn here to get practical advice on traveling with your child without risking starting a debate or an insult swap.

My experience here has been both good and bad. I have gotten some very thoughtful advice when I asked a question one time, but another time when I responded to somebody else's post (about children) I was insulted. I couldn't help thinking why I even bother trying to offer someone else advice. The thing is, I think most people who read and post here do so to get and offer travel advice. Unfortunately, a few trolls (we'd probably call them jerks in the "real world") have to ruin a good thing.

Also keep quiet about:
George W. Bush.
George W. Bush's kids.
