Things to see between Ct and Vt

We (two adults) will be driving from Hartford Ct to Burlington Vt in mid October. Does anyone have any suggestions for stops/things to see to break up the drive? Thank you in advance for your help!

Since you'll be driving north on I91 to I-89, Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, MA for a starter.
Quechee, VT , not far off the interstate, Simon Pearce Glassblowing and excellent restaurant.

Thank you! Exactly the type of information I'm looking for. I'll look into both.

Also Deerfield, MA, the St Gaudens home in Cornish, NH, Woodstock, VT and VT highway 100, incredibly scenic.

Or don't take the interstate and see MASSMOCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art), the Clark Museum in Williamstow, Brattleboro, then Highway 100.

King Arthur Flour in Norwich VT. If not in need of baking supplies, they also have a nice café for lunch but agree that Simon Pearce is a very very nice place for lunch.

Historic Deerfield in western MA. You could also go west on the Mohawk Trail (Rte 2) from Greenfield then head north on 112 to Route 100 in VT and follow that part of the way. There are different east-west routes in VT that connect back to the interstate, including rte 4 which goes through Quechee.

You could make a detour to visit Old Sturbridge Village: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Sturbridge_Village

If there are any knitters in the group, a stop at WEBS yarn shop in Northampton is not to be missed. The Yankee Candle Shop is huge and also fun.

No knitters, just a scrapbooker. Thank you all for the great ideas. I've been researching them all.

Stockbridge, MA and Norman Rockwell Museum
Shelburne Museum

The Shelburne Museum is basically in (just south of) Burlington, not on the way. it would be a good place to visit especially if the weather is nice.
