Will be in Leominster, Ma. for a few days. Anything special to see/do? Any good restaurants?

there's really not a lot... I used to live nearby, and the lack of decent restaurants was appalling.
There's a decent BYO Italian in Fitchburg, called Il Forno. No atmosphere, but good traditional red sauce Italian, with large portions and good prices. There's not a lot to do in the area either. You can drive down to Worcester in about 40 minutes, for better dining, or to go to the Worcester Art Museum which has quite a nice collection. If the weather is nice you could drive to the summit of Mount Wachusett. Or take a walk at the Wachusett Meadow Audobon reserve in Princeton. That reminds me of another very good restaurant, but its a hike from Leominster. Sonoma, in Princeton is excellent. But probably a 30 minute drive. |
You asked this last year; did you end up doing some of what we suggested? What did you like/not like? http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...leominster.cfm

wow, y2k....good memory. And I answered the question with the exact same response last year...how's that for consistency? :) :)

Due to some unfortunate circumstances ended up not going last year. Hopefully will make it this year.

John, I don't think I have anything else to add to what I've wrote last year in your older thread. I did get a chance to visit both the Fruitlands Museum and Tower Hill Botanic Garden within the past year; and have enjoyed both very much. I highly recommend you check those out!
