Things to do with a 5 year old boy in NYC?

Hi Everyone - I actually live in NYC but my nephew is coming into NYC for a visit tomorrow and I have no idea what to do with him. Any ideas? He's been to the zoo at Central Park and the Museum of Natural History already, so we are trying to think of something different. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You might be able to get tickets to the circus. There's a good children's museum in Manhattan, but if the ferries are running, it might be fun to go to Liberty Science Center, which is great for kids.

Don't forget the Met. When my brother was a little kid he always loved both Arms & Armor and the Egyptian section (he kept wanting to get into the sarcophagi to see a "real" mummy). Also Tempe of Dendur is often a hit with little kids.

Circle boat line tour? Or that jet boat they have - if it's runing yet?

Also- have a look at the New York 1 web site - they often have listings of activities for little kids.

I am no expert on New York but have two sons. Mine generally like things that are big. Machines are great.... the armour is a fabulous idea. If your nephew hasn't been, the Empire State Building is an obvious choice. A ferry or boat ride would be great. My older son has been interested in seeing the Statue of Liberty for a few years now.

With a five-year-old, hyou could definitely go to the Top of the Rock, where lines are much shorter than at the Empire State Building.
