Things to do after Thanksgiving Day parade

Have reservations to eat at 1:00 after paraade.

Ice skating, open? Walk around Central Park?

Suggestions?

Yes, ice skating, park ok, Top of the Rock, ride on the Staten Island ferry, walk around and see Xmas windows at the dept. stores. Here's more ideas. http://www.newyorkology.com/archives..._open_than.php

Mme Tussaud's is popular with teens. If you go, make sure to get discounts on broadwaybox.com or seasonofsavings.com It's very expensive. I think the shops in Chinatown are open too.

A lot will depending on the weather. If it's reasonably warm you have lots of options.

If it's really - I've seen 20's, although it's rare - you might also have a list of movies handy.

Thanks! Any tips on best spot to view parade. Never been and our girls are super excited. I want to make sure I make it the best trip I can by planning well.

The area around Columbus Circle is a popular spot.

The major performances all take place in Herald Square - in front of Macy's. But you can get there only if you're covering it on TV or get VIP grandstand tickets.

Seeing from the street near there means arriving at around 6 am and waiting hours.

The further uptown you go the fewer performance s- abut you will see all the marching, floats, balloons and bands will be playing.

Columbus Circle is a reasonable option - still very crowded but you don;t need to be there at 6 am.

We often go to watch the balloons blown up the night before - if it's not TOO cold - then watch the parade on TV.

I would go further uptown than Columbus Circle. My family has gone for many years and always watches from around 65th Street. They still get there very early to be able to stand at the curb.
