Theme parks on July 4th?

Will all of the theme parks in Orlando be MORE crowded because of the holiday or LESS crowded because of family BBQs, etc.? We're trying to decide if that should be a theme park day or a resort pool kind of a day.

Also, in your opinion, who has the best fireworks for the fourth?

It will be unbeliebably crowded on the 4th - since most of the visitors are NOT local - but in Orlando on vacation.

I've been to Universal Orlando a couple times on July 4th. It was PACKED. We stay on site and get the all day express privilege so it didn't bother us. When the fireworks ended there was a HUGE sea of people trying to leave.

What about fireworks displays in the area? What are the best ones?

CROWDED! I used to work at a theme park in the summer....

The parks themselves have displays although I can't say which has the best one.

The parks will be busy. People vacation over the holiday because it means using one less vacation day.

It is really important to have good touring plans for the theme parks when it so busy; otherwise, you spend just too much time in lines. We've used www.buildabettermousetrip.com, the Unofficial Guide, & www.tourguidemike.com.
