Theater at Madison Square Gardens

We have row AA tickets for Christmas Carol, the seating charts I have looked at are conflicting, one shows AA as in the front row, the other shows A in the front and AA in the next section back (about 20 rows), which I imagine would probably be better!! Also, they say "VIP" with a seperate entrance, where would that be and will it be clearly marked?? One more question....dress code for this type of show?? Thanks in advance!!

anyone?? Oct 28th, 2002 07:15 AM

Has anyone out there been to this theater?? I can't help them but am sure someone can!!

Dress code.....casual. It's a family show so you will see all kinds of dress from sweats & jeans to dressy dresses. Where whatever your are comfortable in. Just remember to look in the mirror before you leave the house.

I'm going to check on the theatre seating....be right back.

http://www.radiocity.com/b2a2a.html

This is the official website for Madison Sq. Garden. According to this seating plan and the location of the VIP section, you are up front. Hard to tell if it is the first or the 26th row. (Theatres never have a row I, as it confuses them with the number 1....like on a plane.)

Lynn, now you see my confusion..really curious if we are in the very front or, as you said, 20some rows back, also any info on that VIP entrance so that we can tell the cab driver would be much appreciated!! Thanks for being so kind!!

What section are you in? It looks to me like sections 100-102 are in the very front and contain rows A-L. The next set of sections are the 200's and they begin with row AA, so I believe you're there.

By the way, there's only one "Garden".

Our tickets read VIP100 Row AA...sounds like we might not actually find out until we're in our seats!! We're excited to go to the "Garden" and were just wondering where this VIP entrance might be located since we will probably be walking from our hotel!! Thanks!

YOu will LOVE this show, it is so well done, been every year it has been playing.

IF you are in the VIP section you will have great seats, and be aware that the show is on the stage and in the aisles and behind you and beside you, it is a kind of total immersion. I probably shouldn't tell, but you will also be snowed upon at the end of the show, shhh, don't tell the little ones.

Also the actors will bring candies and crackers (Christmas Crackers), and chocolate coins through the audience, a fun treat for the kids (actually I got some last time too,,,,lol). I think there are 2 rows that are snowed upon so if you are buying seats, you might ask which rows are the "snow rows" if that would be fun for your younger set. I was finding "snow" in pockets for weeks after. You actually will get a couple of inches of snow (paper snow)dropped and it makes for a great scene.

There is lots of singing and dancing and children's choirs and the festivity starts as you enter the Garden, even before you enter the Theatre.

Have a wonderful time and enjoy Christmas in the City.

tweedy

VIP100? Based on the seating chart I saw, that sounds like the very front. But I could be wrong...
