Theater Advice Please

I'm spending a few days in NYC in Dec. and have been perusing shows to see. Best available tickets online have us in 2nd or 3rd row from stage. Is this too close for Avenue Q or Radio City Christmas Spectacular?
Thanks, theater goers.

In some theaters it may be too close since you are looking up throughout the show. Some theaters sell front row seats at a reduced price the day of the performance.

It should be okay for Avenue Q, but too close for Radio City Music Hall.

I agree with Howard.

If you are using either Ticketmaster or Teleticket, instead of selecting "best available" select either orchestra or mezzanine and see what you get. They always put the closest seats as "best available," even though they may not be the best for viewing the show (IMO).

chiquita - i have seen the christmas spectacular the past several years & sat in the very 1st row as well as the middle of the orchestra. it is a different experience. i have to brag a moment and say that my little sister was one of the rockettes & so it was definitely fun to be close & be able to make eye contact with her. but, for the full effect of their lines, etc it is nice to be mid-orchestra. enjoy!
