I have to agree about Cincinnati. Other cities that don't appeal to me at all, though I'll admit that I haven't lived in them and have just passed through...are....<BR><BR>Portsmouth, NH<BR>Memphis, TN<BR>Las Vegas, NV<BR>Salina, KS<BR>Grant, NM<BR>Reno, NV<BR>King City, CA

Basically anyplace east of the Mississippi, west of the Pecos, north of the Red River, or south of the border. Yes, that about sums it up.

How about military towns like Jacksonville, NC, Clarksville, TN unless you like pawn shops, strip bars and other seedy establishments

Oakland... horrible place. The only thing I can recommend are the A's.<BR><BR>

I only found one vote for Hartford!<BR><BR>Disgraceful city. Once, the wealthiest city in the country. Today, look out from the insurance office towers...one block out is run down tenement housing. Two blocks out, it's not uncommon that the buildings are burned out. The money leaves town at night.

Please! Anywhere in North Dakota is worse than Hell. This is a state that is abnormally proud of the Giant Animals made of concrete or something. It is the only thing to see over the entire flatness of the state. Except for the racist Englestad Arena in Grand Forks, home of the Fighting Souix. (hokey fans and SI reader will understand) Get anywhere near ND and the people loose their brains from the blow of the wind. <BR><BR>St. Paul and Mlps aren't so bad. So long as you don't get in the way of those that live there. If you don't know where your going...get the Hell off the streets. Follow the flow of traffic and you fine. And by the way, don't confuse the suburbs with the cities. It would be very hard for a person growing up in St. Paul or Mlps to be racist, seeing that most of the Hmongs (it's a type of nationality, Asian) in this country live here. My family is the only white family in a mile's radius in St. Paul's Frogtown neighborhood. "Minnesota Nice" is midwestern for two-faced by the way.<BR><BR>Florida, where I now live, is most pleasing to me. Some of the world actually loves heat and humidity. And thank God most of you don't. I know when its tourist season to stay to side streets to avoid lost, slow drivers. And the rest of the year, I am content to go where I please and be totally comfortable. You cann't knock a place where shorts can be worn year round.

MIAMI- gross! Humid, no one can speak the ENGLISH language, crime, dirty, horrible drivers overrated and expensive - 3rd world country!!!

I agree with you Laney does suck. Most people there are very cold and rude. Some of the worst drivers I've ever seen. Dirty restrooms in a tropical climate, yuck!! nothing but shopping malls, gangs, strip malls (well these are most of the country unfortunely), and offices.

Gary, Ind., East St.L., Newark, Houston, DC, Anyplace in Alabama, El Paso, Anyplace in Alaska, Detroit, The Dakotas. I take exception to the cities in Ohio (well maybe not Toledo) & the Keys. Everyplace else IS pretty dismal.

I would have to say that the greatest city to live in in the country is the "All American City" of Lowell MA!!! Birthplace of Keroac and Cotton Mills, beautiful downtown, just voted the greatest small-town sports town in the US....... what more could you ask for.<BR>

Excluding Ann Arbor and a few suburbs, Metro Detroit gets my vote.

Jake - Lowell is ok but you've got to be kidding if you think its the greatest city to live in the country.
