The Wine Country
 

We are planning a trip in July up the Oregon Coast and return through the wine country to enjoy some of that great Oregon Pinot Noir. We have gotten a lot of good info about the coast from all of you but does anyone have a particular winery that we should see either for the wine or the facility and its surroundings? Sometimes the beauty is not limited to the wine.

Jack, the north Willamette valley is both beautiful and rich in wines! This site can give you lots of information:<BR><BR>http://www.yamhillwine.com/index.htm<BR><BR>I loved the views from Chateau Benoit winery, the wine and gorgeous koi pond from Yamhill Valley, stayed at Youngberg Hill Vineyard which is fantastic. Also Sokol Blosser, Lange & Erath were cozy and friendly.<BR><BR>I highly recommend eating at the Joel Palmer House. It is on par with the finest European restaurants for cuisine!!<BR><BR>Have a great time!

If you're serious about Pinot Noir, see if you can arrange a tasting at Brickhouse. It's a very small winery in a beautiful setting in the heart of Oregon wine country. And there pinots are consistently outstanding.<BR><BR>Argyle, located in Dundee, also makes a consistently good pinot.

Winding your way through Oregon wine country is a wonderful activity. I'd have to cast my vote for WillaKenzie Estate. Their property is gorgeous, the tasting room is lovely, the people are friendly and informative, and the wine is of high quality. It's worth a stop.<BR><BR>

You've gotten some good advice so far, the Youngberg Hill B & B is beautiful, nice folks. Ask for Lee Medina, Tasting Room Manager at Sokol Blosser. Brick Hill is a must and while your setting up appointments, call Felix at Carlo & Julians. Very small winery ( barn is the tasting room)but excellent wine. <BR>Chateau Benoit is lovely and Argyle is fun for their sparking wines. <BR>And yes the Palmer house is a must, Tina's is very good as well. My gosh do you have a few weeks, we could just keep going.<BR>Enjoy !
