The Venetian: Las Vegas
I have been going back an forth on where to st6ay for my first trip to Las Vegas. First I found the $69 double deal at Bally's, then a $65 rate at Treasure Island, then recently $92 rate at the Mirage, and today I got a deal in my e-mail from the Venetian for $99. Am I really going to find any better of a deal than that?

Don,
You can get always "better" deal. It really just depends on the level of the hotel you want to stay at and the location.

If you want to pay as little as possible and are less concerned about location, then someplace Downtown or Circus Circus, or acommodations, then somplace like Excalibur, will probably have a lower rate.

If you someplace a little nicer than it is going to cost more. Really just depends on your preference. Personally, of the one's you mentioned I'd stay at Venetian. To me, the suites are worth a bit more money. (then again, I usually stay at Bellagio.)

The big hotels are really grouped by budget. For example, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Excalibur and Circus Circus are all owned by the same company. Each is priced according to the market segment they cater to.

I have been twice, staying at Treasure Island both times. Affordable and very nice. Was happy both times. The Venetian is right across the street from Treasure Island. The Venetian was our favorite casino/ hotell... absolutely beautiful. We would like to try and stay there next time, but I loved Treasure Island too. Depends on what you want to pay.

Don - I stayed at the Venetian in January and thought it was awesome. $99 is a steal (I got an email too and I'm ready to go back). When I went I was thrilled to get it for $119. Their basic room is 650 sq ft and the bathroom (all marble) is the size of some hotel rooms in Europe. Everything was first class. Next time if it's not much more I'd flip for the room with a strip view, or else you get the back side of the hotel. Restaurants were great, but that's pretty typical of Vegas.

Venetian for 99.00 for the love of god BOOK IT!!
|
Don, you need to book the $99 Venetian deal. No question.
Isn't it ironic that you've spent all this time trying to plan everything out just perfectly, then at the last minute the Venetian comes in and low-balls you an offer you couldn't have ever anticipated?
You will have a great stay there.
The downside? When you go back again, if you can't afford the Venetian or Bellagio other places will seem very plain by comparison.
Let us know how you liked it when you get back OK?
|
That's a great rate. Don, just book it before it's too late. Report back to us.
|
Don--How did you manage to get such good rates at the Mirage or Venetian?
|
Just comparing monte carlo or venetian, don't even think about it take venetian, comparing david and goliath, awesome sight at their lobby.

My family and I just returned Monday from Vegas and stayed at the Luxor but had a wonderful dinner a the Venetian. You will be sorry if you dont stay at the V it is by far the most beautiful hotel on the strip.

Go to www.luxurylink.com, click on headline news on the left side navigation then click on the first article/release mentioning the Venetian and it gives all the details of the $99 deal with the available dates.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Canaletto at the Venetian. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay, but next time we want to go for the Venetian. Don, if you have any scoop on how you scored the $99 rate, please let me know.

Thanks!

For those looking for good Venetian rates-many times when I receive these ads (I've even gotten one for 79.00 a night there)-they are coming directly from the Venetian website...check it out-you can see calendars with rates listed for several months...some were at 99.00 just last week.

Don, I would always choose The Mirage,
no matter what the price. The pool is
incredible and the casino beautiful.
But that's my personal opinion. I love
the tropical south seas atmosphere. My
husband loves the cold marble at Caesars
Palace so we split our trips between the
two. It all comes down to atmosphere
and where you'll be the most comfortable for me. We've stayed at
Ballys and wouldn't go back. Too Holiday
Inn. TI doesn't have a real big pool
but the rooms were nice as is the casino. Decide where you want to stay,
Italy,Tahiti, or a Pirates den. Have a
great time, I love that town!
t

John.
I would reccommend going to the ESPN zone restaurant at the New York New York casino to see the cup matches. ESPN is americas version of sky sports and they have a ton of tvs there. They also have the live screening rights for the would cup matches. ABC network will also be broadcasting matches in tape delay during the afternoon. There are some good bars in the Luxor as well. The games will be on at odd times with the time difference but you should be able to see the games since Vegas never sleeps.

Mirage = Tahiti??? Not even close!
|
Ani, I checked out the website and I didn't see where you can get into the calendar -- I only saw the "reserve a suite" pick a date reservations. I'm sure it must be on there -- can you tell me where? Thanks.
