The Venetian??
 

About to book my trip to Vegas and found a fabulous rate at the Venetian. Anyone have experience staying there? I read a few reviews online and most were positive, but there were a few people who said the hotel was too large (lots of walking, room service slow, etc). Thanks :)

I have stayed at the Venetian twice in the summer, when they had fantastic rates (because Vegas in summer is hotter than the surface of the sun). I love the Venetian. If I return to Vegas, I will stay at the Venetian, or perhaps try the new Wynn.

The rooms are wonderfully spacious - all of them. Some of the best hotel rooms in the world, and arguably the best "standard" room for a hotel anywhere. As with many casinos, it is a somewhat sprawling complex, but that did not bother me. I also never use room service, so I cannot comment. In lieu of room service, we often ate at (or ordered carry-out) from the Grand Lux, which is run by the Cheesecake Factory people and is very tasty.

The only other thing to add is that it is a little out of the heart of the strip, but not far - just a couple casinos up.

You're seeing the great rate because of the summer heat. I went in August and late June, and both times it was VERY hot (but it's a dry heat :) ). This means that when you step outside in August at midday, it will feel like you are walking towards a blast furnace.

If you're planning on heading to Vegas this summer anyways, I whole-heartedly recommend the Venetian. If you're not, consider how much outside activity you want to engage in, and then make your decision accordingly.

We've stayed at Caesar's, Mandalay Bay and the Venetian. I thought the room at the Venetian was the nicest. It was a large hotel, but so was Caesar's. Didn't try room service. Nice casino.

I'm staying there in early August - I could never have afforded it at regular prices. By the way, does anyone know if there are coffee makers in the suites?

Yes, I am quite sure I remember coffee makers but you can double check on website...The great advantage of the Venetian is having the separate living room area with couch and chairs, so that one can spend some occasional downtime in the room w/o feeling claustrophobic!! We have stayed there several times and have liked it very much. Be sure to try the very civilized breakfast in the bistro Bouchon on the 10th floor.

I work at the Venetian, in a restaurant in the Grand Canal Shoppes and a lot of my guests complain that the suites are awesome but can not beleive there is no coffee maker in the rooms, you might call and see if you can request one. The casinos like to get you up and about to spend money.

I love love love the Venetian--stayed there last December for only $109 (incl. taxes)...only criticism I've ever heard is that the hotel staff is a little stuffy...I didn't find them that way, though--did I mention that I love the Venetian?

The Venetian is the only Vegas hotel we'll stay in. We were last there in May. Have a great time.

Oh-oh, I'm bummed about the coffee makers. I remember staying at the Luxor and looking everywhere for a cup of coffee - I finally got one at the bar for $4!
