the show "O" what is it? Good for teens?
 

I am hearing a lot about the show O, what is it? Is it good for mid teens and two adults in their forties?

O - is an indoor water show. The acrobatics are great, but the show is rather long and boring. I went a few years ago in Vegas - the tickets were $150 - definitely not worth it!

Some people like this sort of thing though.

The vast majority of opinions I've seen on "O", or any of the other cirque shows in Vegas (except maybe zumanity) are overwhelmingly positive.

Cirque du Soleil is a group of, for lack of a better word, acrobats. They perform amazing stunts and tricks. The costumes and set design are stunning. The show generally does not have a story line (though "Ka" does). O is set over a stage that changes from solid to water throughout the show. You can see more about it here:

If you've ever seen a cirque show, this is similar (but different). If you haven't, everyone should if they have a chance! If you're new to cirque, though, most people recommend Mystere as a great first show, and it is cheaper than O (and easier to get tickets to probably ).

Regular tickets for O range from $99-$150 ($93.50 for obstructed view). Tickets for Mystere range from $60-$95.

In contrast to parisinspring, I was thrilled by the show as was my husband and 13 year old daughter. My eleven year old son, however, could have skipped it.

I just saw <b>O</b> this past weekend, in the $150 seats. It's an awe-inspiring collection of athletes and performance artists doing incredible physical feats-- high dives, gymnastics while suspended 60 feet in the air, contortions, fire acts. There's evocative live music, clowns, and a certain air of magic that the Cirque du Soleil troupes manage to create in all their shows. It was worth every penny and then some.

The theatre was packed Saturday at the 7:30 PM show, and the standing ovation at the end was immediate, thunderous and long. I'd say the crowd appreciated it. The ages of the audience went all over the map, but everyone seemed to love it.

If you can appreciate this kind of Extreme Circus, where you will sit with jaw agape at the stunts being performed, in mid-air or in water, it's VERY worth the money. If anyone has a short attention span (say, of less than 5 seconds), they'll hate it.

I can't fathom any show being worth that kind of money - but that's little old uncultured me, LOL!....however, go to www.a2zlasvegas.com. Go to the rating and comments section, select show comments, then production shows, then Cirque du Soleil's O - and you can get a ton of really descriptive information on what other people thought about the show, as well as some idea of what it is about.

The cast of &quot;O&quot; includes a former Olympic diver and the premier male in synchronized swimming.Tho you will not be able to distinguish either of them.

I agree that the show is not worth $150 per seat. However, if a person sees this show only once and amortizes the cost over one's own lifetime... Hey - a person can justify nearly any expense, right?

We saw this show last December. I thought the ACROBATIC portions were awesome but the &quot;show&quot; portion was way too artsy for me. Some muscle guy in a thong prancing around...what the ??? The dudes dressed like British Revolutionary War soldiers tip-toeing across the stage, etc...

Did I think it was a rip-off?....NO

Would I see it again?....NO

Read the reviews on other websites. I agree that they are 80%+ positive. However, I'd also say that *most* people in the reviews that have also seen Mystere overwhelmingly say that Mystere is even better.

Maybe. I didn't enjoy Mystere as much as &quot;O&quot;. We saw them in the same week. In the same vein, Dralion wasn't as good for us as Varekai.

I'm thinking of seeing this show but with the high ticket prices was wondering what the seating system is like? Are the $93.50 or $99 seats any good?

Really aren't many bad seats in this theatre. Unless the ticket agent gasps when you place your order...

The $93.50 obstructed view seats mean your view will be obstructed. I would not be OK with that, but certainly some do choose to sit there.

But maybe the obstructed seats aren't so bad as they are closer than the $99 seats?

Ouch. Wasn't aware that $93.50 = obstructed view. If that's the case, then rent the higher priced seat w/clear view. If it's worth doing, it must be done correctly.

I didn't scour the theatre, but I don't recall where the obstructions are located. I did look to compare our seats at the time, of course.

I had &quot;obstructed&quot; seats that were in the balcony with the bar in front of you, probably lap level, not really in the way at all...but I did need opera spyglasses to see their faces close up...

We sat in the obstructed view seats in the balcony too. They're actually not bad at all and I would actually recommend sitting somewhere in the balcony so you can see the water from above. The balcony isn't bad as long as you don't mind not being able to see the performers up close.

Check out &quot;Ka&quot; too. I've seen and loved both, but Ka has more energy and &quot;plot&quot; IMHO. My teen sons gave high ratings to both shows.
