That is a tough question to answer -- it's such a personal judgement call. I looked at the prices on their website (could not remember food prices).

Personally, I would go for it unless you are on a tight budget.

The food is top quality. Don't know about the rooms but Glade Springs is very very nice and I would be shocked if the rooms were not gorgeous.

Glade Springs consists of the resort area, which is spread out. Also on the grounds but spread out so you will probably not see them, are elegant homes which are permanent residences. It is a gated community with a guard at the gate.

There are also some shops at Glade which are tucked away in its own area. Check with the guard as to how to get to them. There is not a lot but they are worth the visit.

Tell the gals to go to the Tamarack for lunch one day. The cafe is open air almost cafeteria style, however, the food is great. The cafe is run by The Greenbrier and the chefs are Greenbrier chefs.

Another great place for lunch is Macado's. They have something like over 60 sandwiches and they are delicious. Ex: The Molly Brown - Melted Swiss, muenster and provolone, topped with olives, portabello mushrooms, lettuce & tomato, served on rye. Sounds terrible but is YUMMY.
