The Real Truth Updates on New York Restaurants

My parents just came to town and have been eating out every night. Here's a few updates.

Tavern on the Green - My parents said it was the highlight of their trip but if you have even one taste bud in your mouth, you have to stay away. It is much worse than I remembered. I briefly thought about licking my own asshole to get the taste out of my mouth. Do not get anything but the pasta bc everything else can be seriously bad. I'm not going to go as far as saying its poisonous, but it will make you slightly vomitous. Osso Bucco was tough as a mother-in-laws foot. I'm all for cloning if they can make the lamb chop edible. And since we were eating so close to Xmas, we had the pleasure of ordering off the Holiday Menu which means $38 entrees. As I am amazed no white supremicist (moron) has yet tried to kill OJ Simpson, I'm amazed no one has tried to blow up Tavern.

China Grill - They are slipping. The lamb dumplings were poor. The lobster pancakes average. They delivered four orders of rice instead of the two we ordered. The sizzling whole fish was excellent however.

Shun Lee West - Many Chinese say its not "authentic" but if the food tastes good who cares? Is not the point of eating good food to please the taste buds and not the mind into thinking we were in Shanghai? Everything was delicious. Get the chinese menu next time. They are different and offer good selections. Garlic Shrimp and scallops with lobster sauce. Yum

Bouley Bakery - I went with an 8 year old and 4 adults. The waiters couldn't have been kinder even though we ordered no wine. I was worried the 8 year old wouldn't sit still and would rather eat hamburger but he devoured everything and said it was delicious. For $65 it better be you little brat. Get the lobster and the chicken and of course, melon soup and chocolate souffle.

Le Cirque - Once again my parents loved the interior, but the food was mediocre. I always expect timidity from their kitchen and they never fail to deliver it.

Happy Holidays and Fine Eating everybody!!

GEE SAM, MAYBE YOU COULD REVIEW SOME TRUCKSTOPS FOR US.

Some of us are not impressed with people who eat out all the time. The restaurants I enjoy are certainly not the best known or most expensive.

This man wants attention -- and gets it. I suggest the next time you see "Real Truth" or his name, ignore it. Maybe he'll go away -- or go home to his porno mag -- or go look in his mirror. Whatever.
I, for one, may not have used the same language as Sam but truth be told he is colorful and opinionated. You guys act like you're 3 yrs old and never heard a curse word. Sam, keep it up, good buddy. I laughed my ass off

Buddy Dec 30th, 1999 10:55 AM

Richard, now that its off it should be easier to lick.

I laughed too. You guys should lighten up!
